Huxley has established an enviable reputation as being one of Australia’s finest turf experts after a lifetime in racing as a journalist and radio commentator.
Proof of his expertise is that he is a six-time winner of the annual Victorian metropolitan Tipster’s award – the most ever - and he also won the 2005-06 VRC Tipster’s competition for selecting the most winners at their meetings.
His deep insight into racing evolved after working in the racing departments of the Melbourne Sun, The Age, the Sporting Globe and as racing editor of the Melbourne Herald for five years, before starting his own company, Ray Huxley Racing.
This business involves providing the popular price assessments and tips on Australia's two dominant racing radio stations, Sport 927 in Melbourne and 2KY Racing Radio in Sydney. In addition, Huxley has also acted as the price analyst for one of Australia’s largest metropolitan newspapers for many years.
Such is his experience, for the past 10 years he has worked at the VRC Spring Carnivals as a host/tipster in major marquees. He also conducts Punters clubs for the Moonee Valley Racing Club and acts as a host/tipster at various other racing functions, including Calcuttas.
